Monetary facilities include a bank, bureau de change and ATMs within the terminals.


Telephones and paid-for Wi-Fi internet access are available throughout the terminals. A post office is located in Terminal 2.


There are many restaurants, bars and cafés at Hamburg Airport; these can be found in the Airport Plaza and in the terminals both pre- and post-security.


There is a wide variety of shops (including duty-free for non-EU travellers) in both terminals and on both levels of the Airport Plaza. Among these are souvenir retailers, fashion boutiques and bookshops.


Advance reservations can be made for a porter service (tel: (040) 5075 2010). Luggage trolleys are available for a small deposit. There is a left-luggage facility (tel: (040) 5075 2923) in the Terminal 2 arrivals area. Lost property is handled by the Airport Office (tel: (040) 50750).


Hamburg Airport has a pharmacy and a Red Cross medical centre. Other options include a casino area, a hairdresser, shoeshine facilities and a casino.

Conference & Business

The Airport Office (tel: (040) 50750) provides a range of business services, including fax, photocopying and typing. Executive lounges are located on level 2 of Terminal 2. VIP services are also available (tel: (040) 5075 2012).

The Airport Conference Centre Mövenpick (tel: (040) 5075 3338), in Terminal 2, offers 14 meeting rooms; the Airport Conference Centre Lilienthalhaus (tel: (040) 5075 2500) also provides seven conference venues, accommodating up to 90 delegates, with audiovisual and other equipment for hire. There is also the large Terminal Tango (tel: (040) 5075 3607) event space in the former Charter Terminal.

Many of the airport hotels also offer meeting and conference facilities, notably the Radisson Blu Hamburg Airport (tel: (040) 300 3000;, which is adjacent to the terminal complex and offers 15 meeting rooms.

    Disabled travellers are asked to notify their airline and the airport information desk (tel: (040) 50750) of their needs, prior to travel. Hamburg Airport is accessible to wheelchairs, and disabled toilets are located throughout. Parking spaces for the disabled can be found near the terminals, with disabled parking in the multistorey area located near the exits. A door-to-door transfer service, as well as wheelchair push and provision, is offered by DRK Mediservice (tel: (040) 5075 3353).

    Airport information desks are located in Terminals 1 and 2. The Airport Office, located in the Airport Plaza on the arrivals level, provides airport information, travel tickets, event ticket sales, hotel reservations and other services. It is open from 0600 to 2300 daily.

    Transfer between Terminals

    The terminals are linked by the Airport Plaza facility. A free shuttle bus runs between the terminals and to car park P6.

    Public Transport

    Like other German cities, Hamburg has a peerless public transport system. Its underground (U-Bahn), trains (S-Bahn), buses, and ferry services are run by the Hamburg Transport Association ( Tickets work across all forms of transport. Get a Hamburg Card, for one, three or five days and you’ll get discounts at key sights and on city tours.


    Cream-coloured cabs can easily be found throughout the city, either driving around or at taxi ranks marked by green posts. You can also call a car. Good services include Hansa Taxo (tel: (040) 211 211).
