Telephones and free Wi-Fi internet access are available throughout the terminals. A post office is located in Terminal 2.

Food

There are many restaurants, bars and cafés at Hamburg Airport; these can be found in the Airport Plaza and in the terminals both pre- and post-security.

Shopping

There is a wide variety of shops (including duty-free for non-EU travellers) in both terminals and on both levels of the Airport Plaza. Among these are souvenir retailers, fashion boutiques and bookshops.

Luggage

Advance reservations can be made for a porter service (tel. +49-40/50 75 20 10). Luggage trolleys are available. There is a left-luggage facility in the Terminal 2 arrivals area. Lost property is handled by the Airport Office (tel: +49-40/507 50).

Other

Hamburg Airport has a pharmacy and a Red Cross medical centre. Other options include a hairdresser and a prayer room (Terminal 1, level 2).

Conference & Business

The Airport Conference Center in Terminal 2, level 2 (tel. +49-40/50 75 33 38) provides a range of business services. Executive lounges are located on level 2 of Terminal 2. VIP services are also available.

The Airport Conference Center Lilienthal-Haus (tel: +49-40/50 75 25 00) also provides conference venues with audiovisual and other equipment for hire. There is also the large Terminal Tango (tel: +49-40/50 75 32 11) event space in the former Charter Terminal.

    Accessibility

    Travellers with impaired mobility are asked to notify their airline and the airport information desk of their needs, prior to travel. Hamburg Airport is accessible to wheelchairs, and disabled toilets are located throughout. Parking spaces for the disabled can be found near the terminals, with disabled parking in the multistorey area located near the exits. A door-to-door transfer service, as well as wheelchair push and provision, is offered by DRK Mediservice (tel: +49-40/50 75 33 53).

    Airport information desks are located in Terminals 1 and 2. The Airport Office, located in the Airport Plaza on the arrivals level, provides airport information, travel tickets, event ticket sales, hotel reservations and other services. It is open from 0630 to 2300 daily.

    Public Transport

    Hamburg has a peerless public transport system. Its underground (U-Bahn), trains (S-Bahn), buses, and ferry services are run by the Hamburg Transport Association (hvv.de). Tickets work across all forms of transport. Get a Hamburg Card, for one, three or five days and you’ll get discounts at key sights and on city tours.

    Taxis

    Cream-coloured cabs can easily be found throughout the city, either driving around or at taxi ranks marked by green posts. You can also call a car. Good services include Hansa Taxi (tel. +49-40-21 12 11) and Taxi Hamburg (tel. +40-40/66 66 66).
