How to get there
Upon leaving Malta International Airport, take the main road to Marsa and head northeast to Valletta along Triq Sant’ Anna. The city centre and airport are both clearly signposted.
Malta Public Transport (tel: 2122 2000; www.publictransport.com.mt) buses X1, X1A, X2 and X4A depart regularly to Valletta from a bus stop outside the check-in hall (journey time: 25 minutes; fare: €1.30 (valid for two-hours) or €1.50 (valid all day)).
Other buses serving the airport include the X3 and X86, which link the airport to the northern town of Ċirkewwa.
The Malta Transfer shuttle (www.maltatransfer.com) connects to various destinations in Malta. One-way fares start from €5. Ticket desks are located in the baggage reclaim area.
There is a fixed-fare taxi service operated by White Taxis (TLWA) (tel: 2182 3017; www.maltataxi.net) to all areas of Malta. The fare to Valetta from the airport is €10, and the journey time is about 20 minutes. A taxi booth is located in the Welcomers’ Hall (Arrivals), from which prepaid tickets can be purchased.
There are spaces for 650 cars in the car park, which is opposite the terminal and is linked by a walkway. The car park offers both short- and long-term parking rates; the first 10 minutes of parking is free. Car parking enquiries should be directed to Airport Parking Ltd (tel: 2125 7722).
