How to get there
Upon exiting the airport, follow signs to Autopista/Caracas and drive through a toll booth and two tunnels (Boquerón I and Boquerón II). Then keep left upon arrival at a third tunnel (La Planicie) and follow signs to Petare. The tunnel leads into Caracas city centre.
UCAM buses (tel: (0212) 352 4818) run between the airport and Caracas (journey time: 40 minutes; fare: US$3). Bus stops are conveniently close to the metro stations in Caracas.
An official 24-hour taxi service is provided by Corporación Anfitriones de Venezuela (tel: 0212) 352 8555). There are distinctive yellow desks in the arrivals areas of both terminals where passengers can pay for the trip in advance. Passengers are advised not to use unofficial taxis whose drivers tout for business in the terminal.
Official taxis are available from outside Arrivals and Departures at both terminals: these can also be booked online through Taxi to Caracas (www.taxitocaracas.com). The fare to the city is around US$45.
Short- and long-term car parking facilities are located at the National Terminal, with a further long-term car park at the International Terminal. Both long-term car parks are open 24 hours a day, while the short-term area is open from 0430 to 2330.
