How to get there
When driving from the city center, take Interstate 35 South, then route TX 71 and exit on Spirit of Texas Drive. The exit for the airport is marked “Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.”
The regional public transportation provider Capital Metro operates Route 20 (Manor Road/Riverside), which connects the airport with downtown Austin. Buses depart from the guitar-shaped bus shelter at the terminal approximately every 15 minutes. SuperShuttle minibuses are also available. Seats must be reserved in advance for this service (supershuttle.com).
There is a taxi stand outside the terminal building. A list of the different taxi companies is available on the airport’s website (austintexas.gov). Taxis accept all major credit cards.
There are numerous parking lots and parking garages at the airport. If you are leaving your car for a long time, it is best to choose a parking lot that is farther away from the terminal, such as one of the economy lots. Shuttle buses run between these lots and the terminal building. Parking spaces can be reserved through the parking provider’s website (abiaparking.com).
