A branch of Sparkasse bank is located in the departures area of Terminal B, and is open 24 hours a day. Bureaux de change facilities are available in the arrivals and departures areas of Terminal B. ATMs can be found throughout the terminal buildings.


There is an on-site post office within Hanover Airport. An internet café is situated on the departures level of Terminal C, while Wi-Fi internet access is available in Terminals A and B for a fee.


There is a good selection of cafés, bars and restaurants at Hanover Airport, with options in each terminal. These include a sports bar in Terminal C and a bakery in Terminal B.


Most shops at Hanover Airport are located on the departures level of the Airport Plaza, between Terminals A and B. However, there are other outlets within Terminal C and in the waiting lounges. Among the options are duty-free outlets (for travellers leaving the EU), tobacconists, gift shops and an electronics outlet.


Left-luggage and lost property enquiries are handled by the Airport Service Centre (tel: (0511) 9770) in the arrivals area of Terminal B.


A children’s play area is located on the departures level of Terminal C. There is also a pharmacy and a hairdressers’.

Conference & Business

A number of event spaces are available within the airport complex, including the Skylight lounge on the airport’s fifth floor. Paid-for lounges include the Karl Jatho Lounge (between Terminals A and B), and the Lufthansa Lounge for Star Alliance customers (Terminal A).     Wheelchair transportation is available on request from the Airport Service Centre (tel: (0511) 9770) and from airline ticket counters – passengers should inform the airline in advance of any special needs. Lifts, disabled toilets, dedicated ‘pick-up points’ and accessible public telephones are located throughout Hanover Airport. There are numerous parking spaces for disabled visitors in car parks P1 and P2.

    Public Transport

    The city has an efficient bus and tram network operated by Üstra (tel: (0511) 16680, www.uestra.de) and a suburban railway (S-Bahn). Buy tickets from vending machines at tram stops. Depending on the machine, you may need to validate them before use. Short-trip tickets (valid for three tram or five bus stops) and single tickets are sold, but day tickets (cheaper than two singles) offer the best value. The Hannover Card tourist card gives you unlimited free travel within the city.
