There are two banks with bureau de change facilities in Terminal 1. Numerous ATMs are located throughout the airport.


Telephones and paid-for Wi-Fi internet access are available within the terminals. There is a post office in Terminal 3.


A good range of restaurants, fast-food outlets, cafés and bars (including a Bavarian-style biergarten) are available at Stuttgart Airport, with options in each terminal.


There are a variety of shops at Stuttgart Airport, including fashion outlets, newsagents and gift shops. Duty- and tax-free outlets (for passengers travelling outside the EU) are available in Terminals 1, 3 and 4.


The lost property office (tel: (0711) 948 3355) deals with enquiries about lost and found items at Stuttgart Airport. A porter service (tel: (0711) 948 4570) is on hand to assist with luggage. Luggage storage facilities are available in Terminal 1.


Other facilities at Stuttgart Airport include a hairdresser’s, children’s play area, chapel and petrol station. A medical centre (tel: (0711) 9331 5872) is situated on level 2 of Terminal 1. Sightseeing helicopter flights and guided tours can be arranged through the tourist information desk in Terminal 3.

    Stuttgart Airport is fully accessible with lifts, ramps and electronic revolving doors. Wheelchair-accessible toilets are situated on all levels and lowered telephones are available. Reserved parking for the disabled is clearly marked in the

    adjacent car parks. Europcar provides hire cars for disabled drivers; reservations must be made in advance. Special assistance for disabled travellers is also available from airlines, but passengers are required to arrange this in advance.

    Public Transport

    Stuttgart’s public transport network includes buses and the U-Bahn metro system. There’s also a suburban S-Bahn rail network. Services are operated by the Verkehrs- und Tarifverbund Stuttgart (VVS; tel: (0711) 66060; Buy tickets from machines at stations, or from bus drivers where this is not possible. Single journey tickets are available, but day tickets and three-day tickets usually offer visitors better value. The tourist Stuttcard pass includes free public transport.


    Pick up taxis from designated ranks, or call the central line Taxi Auto Zentrale (tel: (0711) 551 0000). Tipping is not necessary.
